“But little by little, as you left their voices behind, the stars began to burn through the sheets of clouds, and there was a new voice which you slowly recognized as your own, that kept you company as you strode deeper and deeper into the world.”

Individual Psychotherapy

Almost every interaction we have is influenced by habits that have been ingrained in us from the time we were little kids. It’s why we often attract partners with similar characteristics, have similar kinds of frustrations with coworkers, and play out the same fights with loved ones over and over again.

This tangled web of frustrations can be debilitating, and psychotherapy can loosen the knot. In our work together, we identify the familiar patterns, name the core conflicts at play and systematically address them.

Individual therapy provides a safe and contained setting where the individual has the opportunity to freely express all thoughts and emotions, while exploring the intricate dynamics of his or her internal world. How these dynamics and perceptions contribute to his or her experiences in life becomes a main focus in the relationship between client and clinician.

“We can’t heal what we
don’t acknowledge,
but acknowledgment can be
painful and takes work,
so we need effective tools
and safe spaces where
all feel welcome.”

— Lama Rod Owens

Our work together

We perceive life through our own lenses - lenses that have been determined by the experiences we have lived. We are inclined to be invested in narratives and stories about ourselves and often find ourselves unconsciously repeating these stories in our relationships with others. These narratives and their side-effects emerge in the therapeutic relationship. This provides the therapist and client the option of noticing what is coming up in order to create the opportunity for the client to gain insight and eventually make changes towards a richer life experience.

In our work together I strive to create a space where my client’s can make choices that are authentic, meaningful, and life-enhancing. I combine a warm & intuitive approach to help you find the solutions that will bring you fulfillment and a sense of clarity. I provide individual talk therapy to adults and teens who are experiencing life transitions, relationship difficulties or desiring the opportunity to better know themselves. My approach is collaborative, active-listening, strength-based, and direct. I view therapy as a supportive space to explore your goals, identify unhealthy patterns and develop the strength to make changes.
